EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR DUTIES
March 2022
The Iris Clubhouse was founded in 2015 to help Natrona County residents experiencing mental illness lead productive and satisfying lives. Following the International Clubhouse model, the Iris Clubhouse is a local, independent 501(c)(3) non-profit seeking an Executive Director. As the leader of the organization, the Executive Director must be passionate, dynamic, and possess the ability to develop a long-range vision for the growth and success of the Iris Clubhouse. The Director should believe in the Clubhouse Standards as a means of recovery for adults living with a mental illness.
Organizational Leadership
In conjunction with the Board of Directors, staff and members, manage the development of a strategic plan, with a focus on continued growth and expansion of programs and services.
Provide programmatic, development, financial, and administrative management with a vision for long-term planning and increase in Iris Clubhouse’s community visibility.
Act as the primary liaison and communicate in a timely manner with the Board of Directors and prepare the agenda and packets of materials
Report to and work closely with the Board of Directors to seek their involvement in policy decisions, fundraising and to increase the overall visibility of the Clubhouse
Manage and develop the annual budget with the assistance of the Board of Directors
Programmatic Leadership
Oversee the development of daily programming by staff, volunteers and members.
Supervise and evaluate the staff and volunteers in the day-to-day operations of the Clubhouse.
Recruit, hire, supervise, and collaborate with the Clubhouse staff and volunteers
Model the vision of the Iris Clubhouse in all relationships with members, staff, and board
Arranging and overseeing generalist also charged with overseeing transitional and supported employment opportunities
External Leadership
Provide presentations to community organizations on the Clubhouse model
Initiate and lead efforts in the community to educate on the Clubhouse Standards while reducing stigma and removing barriers for those living with mental illness.
Must lead a multi-faceted fundraising effort that includes securing government and private funds, planned giving, events and endowment opportunities.
Serve as Iris Clubhouse’s primary spokesperson to constituents, the media, and the general public.
Establish and maintain relationships with various organizations and utilize those relationships to strategically enhance the Clubhouse mission.
Qualifications
Preference will be given to those with a degree in the human services field
Deep connection with the International Clubhouse mission and the ability to build rapport with members and their families.
Outstanding organizational leadership skills, with the ability to communicate a clear and inspiring vision for the Iris Clubhouse.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop strong relationships across a diverse spectrum of stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work with a board of directors and non-profit experience preferred.
High energy with a positive attitude, while being comfortable working in a fast-paced/active and sometimes noisy environment
Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and willingness to drive members in a van.
Ability to stand for long periods, walk, lift and kneel
Strong skills in conflict resolution
