On May 22nd, the Iris Clubhouse opened its doors to the community for a heartfelt and uplifting Open House event. With a wonderful turnout of members, community partners, supporters, and friends, the atmosphere was full of energy, connection, and celebration.
Guests had the opportunity to tour the Clubhouse, learn more about our mission, and hear directly from members whose stories reminded us all of the transformative power of belonging, purpose, and support. These personal testimonies highlighted the importance of the Clubhouse model and left a lasting impression on all in attendance.
The event also served as a meaningful milestone for the Iris Clubhouse as we bid a warm and grateful farewell to our previous Executive Director, Rebecca Reeves. Rebecca’s leadership helped shape the foundation of the Clubhouse, and her dedication to member-driven recovery has left an enduring legacy. We thank her for her service and wish her the very best in her next chapter.
As we look to the future, we also welcomed our new Executive Director, Grace Filkins. Grace brings with her a strong background in mental health, nonprofit leadership, and a deep connection to the mission of the Clubhouse. Having previously served on the Board of Directors; Grace is well-acquainted with the values and goals of the organization. Her vision includes expanding membership, increasing participation in the Supported and Transitional Education and Employment Programs (STEP), and strengthening advocacy and outreach efforts.
The Open House was a celebration of our community’s past, present, and future and a reminder that recovery happens when we invest in each other.
We thank everyone who attended and continue to support the Iris Clubhouse. Together, we move forward, building opportunity, connection, and hope every step of the way.
